  • Shaquille Hunter is a winger who came through the youth set-up at Rovers, graduating into the professional ranks in 2012. While still a youth team player he joined up with the first team on a number of occasions during the 2011–12 season. He impressed then-manager Paul Buckle when he played in a pre-season match against Bitton while still aged 15, a performance which earned from praise from both the club's official website and also from teammate Chris Lines, who described him as having great feet on Twitter. He was drafted into the first team's match day squad for the first time on 30 August 2011, when he was on the bench for Rovers' 3–2 defeat at Leyton Orient, but he didn't make it on to the pitch on this occasion. He was an unused substitute again on 29 October for The Pirates' 2–0 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge at the Memorial Stadium, and once more a fortnight later in a 3–1 beating of non-league Corby Town in the FA Cup. In all he sat on the bench seven times in the 2011–12 season without making it onto the field of play. Even before making a competitive appearance for the club it was reported that several top flight clubs rated him very highly, and were considering making an offer for his services. He signed his first professional contract with Rovers in June 2012 while still aged 16, although it would be a further two months before it came into effect as Football League players are not allowed to turn professional before their 17th birthday. He had to wait until the opening game of the 2013–14 season before he could finally make his league debut, coming on as an 83rd-minute replacement for Ellis Harrison in a 2–1 defeat to Exeter City.
