The Ten Cent coin was made in 1863 as Hong Kong's smaller denomuation in the new Hong Kong Dollar. Coins struck 1863-1934 were made of silver and 1935-8 were made of Cupronickel. These are somewhat thick and have a security layer, which is a row of dots.
