An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

An animated adaptation of Capcom's beloved Mascot...more specifically, the classic version. Created by Ruby-Spears Productions, this series ran from 1994 to 1995. The overall plot of the cartoon is pretty much like the video games it was based on, with Mega Man having to foil the schemes of Mad Scientist Dr. Wily, who wants nothing more than to Take Over the World. It is somewhat like the American Street Fighter cartoon in that the plots of the individual episodes would tend to get kinda screwy, but was nonetheless good for a usually unintentional laugh. The voice work was provided by The Ocean Group who would later dub Mega Man Powered Up.

In a strange move, despite the cartoon getting fairly solid ratings, it was canceled before a third season could get off the ground. An interview with Joe Ruby has shed light on production of the show. Concept art has also resurfaced.
