| - "Lionstar," the gray tabby meowed, "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry this happened, I'm sorry I couldn't prevent it, I'm sorry-" "Pebbleclaw," Lionstar meowed gently, "It's okay. I don't blame you." "Of course you don't," Pebbleclaw meowed bitterly. "Pebbleclaw, you can't blame yourself for Nostar's actions," the green-eyed medicine cat meowed form where he was staring intently at a river. Lionstar purred, "Greeneyes, you were a ThunderClan medicine cat in life, why are you fishing in the river?" Greeneyes flicked his ear, "Don't you ever get curious about the other Clans? Their way of life?"

Lionstar purred, "Greeneyes, you were a ThunderClan medicine cat in life, why are you fishing in the river?" Greeneyes flicked his ear, "Don't you ever get curious about the other Clans? Their way of life?" "No," Lionstar meowed, whiskers twitching. "That low down rat should never become leader. I say we leave him for an eternity in one of our lives." Pebbleclaw hissed. "We can't," Lionstar meowed, sighing, "And besides, I want Yarrowheart to know these lessons. The ones I could never teach him." Pebbleclaw hissed and the golden tom went on, "Do you remember when you first saw me as your apprentice Pebbleclaw?" The gray warrior winced, "Of course. You were a fluffy golden bundle of energy." "I know you still think of me that way," Lionstar meowed with a glimmer of humor, "And to me, Yarrowheart will always be my well-meaning apprentice." Pebbleclaw snorted and turned away, but Greeneyes nodded thoughtfully, "Maybe if we can reach the apprentice inside him... do you really think we can save him Lionstar?" Lionstar nodded grimly, "It's better then letting the Dark Forest take him." Pebbleclaw turned, his long tail whisking over the ground, "You better hope your apprentice can learn what courage is Lionstar," he growled, "Because if he fails, I look forward to a lifetime of watching him suffer in the Dark Forest." Lionstar nodded and his old mentor padded away into the starry forest.
