From 1977 to 1978, Purcell co-hosted the short-lived ABC daytime game show The Better Sex alongside Bill Anderson. In the early 90s, she was a panelists on the NBC daytime version of To Tell the Truth. During a 1993 segment of The Home Show about Influenza vaccines, a physician mistakenly gave Purcell with the same needle that had been used on Gary Collins. At the end of the show, Collins announced that he would undergo blood test to allay any concerns. As of now, there were no reported subsequent results.
