Kentrosaurus is a genus of stegosaurian dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of Tanzania. The type species is K. aethiopicus, named and described by German palaeontologist Edwin Hennig in 1915. Often thought to be a "primitive" member of the Stegosauria, several recent cladistic analyses find it as more derived than many other Stegosaurus, and a close relative of Stegosaurus from the North American Morrison Formation within the Stegosauridae.

  • A Kentrosaurus is a small Dinosaur that is mostly known for the row of spikes that runs down it's back and tail. They are herbivores. They are part of the Stegosauria family and lived in the late Jurassic period. They are depicted in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs as having abnormally long necks, buggy eyes, and hawk-like hooked beaks.
  • Kentrosaurus is famous for the gradual transition of plates to spikes along its back. Often seen as basal in the stegosaurid family, recently it has been found to be a derived relative of Stegosaurus. Additionally, Kentrosaurus and Centrosaurus had a minor confusion where it was assumed they both had the same name, and they were given new names like "Kentrurosaurus" and "Eucentrosaurus"; however, as the spelling and pronunciation differed, they were not the same name and the renaming was unnecessary and reverted.

  • Kentrosaurus is an upcoming stegosaur in The Isle.
  • The Kentrosaurus is an animal available on FarmVille. It's released with Dino Lab and can be created in pen part of Dino Lab with 4 File:Red DNA-icon.png Red DNA bushels, 4 File:Green DNA-icon.png Green DNA bushels and 1 File:Blue DNA-icon.png Blue DNA bushel. It can be also be bought from Market for cash and then you will get File:XP-icon.png experience.
  • Kentrosaurus ("pointed lizard") was a stegosaur dinosaur, a smaller African relative and counterpart to the larger and better known Stegosaurus.
  • Real Kentrosaurus were stegosaurs which lived in Africa during the Jurassic period, using the spines on their backs for protection from carnivorous dinosaurs. Kentrosaurus was smaller than Stegosaurus at 5.5 metres in length, and, like its larger relative, had a spiked tail that it could swing to defend itself.. Its name means "spiked lizard".

  • The first fossils of Kentrosaurus were discovered by the German Tendaguru Expedition in 1909, recognized as belonging to a stegosaur by expedition leader Werner Janensch on 24 July 1910, and described by German palaeontologist Edwin Hennig in 1915. During four field seasons, the German Expedition found over 1200 bones of Kentrosaurus, many of which were destroyed during the Second World War. Today, almost all remaining material is housed in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (roughly 350 remaining specimens), while the museum of the Institute for Geosciences of the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen houses a composite mount, roughly 50% of it being original bones. Although no complete individuals were found, some material was found in association, including a nearly complete tail, hip, sever
