Emily Post was a woman who knew her and other women's places. Eventually she would marry and raise a family, but not until after she went to college and wrote books for a living. Mrs. Post's American ladyhood is controversial. While she is known for butting into the lives of other women, an appropriate past time for the fairer sex, she chose to do so by doing it in book form (thus forcing people to read) which took at least one book writing job away from a man. Although the book was on the topic of etiquette (the science of ladyness), this did not make up for the damage she caused by writing a book.
