  • Performer(s) Appeared in The Ghostbusters are the protagonists in the Ghostbusters movies and their animated television spin-off The Real Ghostbusters. Their names are Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Ray Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddmore. Their only appearance in a Christmas television special was in The Real Ghostbusters episode "Xmas Marks the Spot", wherein a time-warp leads the team back to the original night of Dickens A Christmas Carol with consequences for all Christmases yet to come. The team's personalities overall show through in their outlooks on Christmas. Venkman is the most hostile to the holiday at first but comes around to treasure it after the episode's near-miss. Stantz is the most giddy. Optimistic and childlike, he is the fiercest advocate for setting things right. Spengler, while the most coldly analytical, is ironically not as hostile to the holiday as Venkman, but he views it as a distraction and at the start is largely indifferent to its importance, again until the reveal. By that same token, working in the fields he does, he is very open to the mystic explanation for what occurs. Zeddmore is the everyman, liking Christmas, but also overwhelmed by how crass and commercialistic everyone can become; he is also the one who most deeply gets what their premise-driving error really means. While no other TV or movie Christmas stories involve the Ghostbusters, the 88-MPH (publisher) comic Ghostbusters:Past,Present, and Future offers another Scrooge story, albeit with a different twist than either the animated episode or most takes, and is reviewed in full here
