Solos was the court sorcerer of King Coros VII of Carsepolis and therefore the first court sorcerer of Carsepolis. He was also the first pupil of Yannisara.

| - Solos ist ein Planet der Milchstraße. Er befindet sich im Kyklopen-Nebel, hat die Größe der Erde und benötigt 2000 Jahre, um die Sonne zu umkreisen. Dominate Spezies auf Solos sind die Solonianer, denen die giftige Atmosphäre auf der Planetenoberfläche nichts ausmacht. Im 30. Jahrhundert ist Solos eine Erd-Kolonie, welche im vom Dritten Doctor und Jo Grant besucht wird. Zum Zeitpunkt des Besuchs des Doctors ist Solos gerade dabei in die Unabhängigkeit entlassen zu werden, als der Administrator mittels eines Komplotts getötet wird. Nachfolgend wird ein Solonianer, Ky, als Hauptverdächtiger gehandelt. Der Grund für die Ermordung ist ein Plan des Marshals des Planeten, welcher selbigen, der über eine für Menschen giftige Atmosphäre verfügt, terraformieren und für Menschen bewohnbar machen möchte. Dies wiederum würde allerdings die Solonianer auslöschen, bzw. ein weiteres Überleben auf dem Planeten schwer machen. Der Doctor findet später heraus, dass der Planet einen mehrere Jahrtausend langen Zyklus durchmacht, an dessen Scheitel eine enorme und für Menschen definitiv tötliche Radioaktivität vorherrscht. Die Solonianer können sich dagegen mittels einer natürlichen Metamorphose schützen, in deren Folge sie zuerst eine insektoide und schließlich transzendent/immaterielle Gestalt haben. Durch Ky, der die letzte Phase der Verwandlung erreicht hat, können die Pläne des Marshals endgültig gestoppt werden und die Menschen verlassen den Planeten und überlassen ihn seinen rechtmäßigen Besitzern. During the approach of the summer era, Solonians needed to adapt their bodies into forms that could survive the grueling changes in climate. The race began a natural metamorphosis that would change them from humanoid forms into bipedal insect-like cocoons. These intermediary forms shielded them from the intense heat and allowed them to retreat into Solos's caves, which provided cooler living conditions and shelter from the hostile conditions outside. After reaching the heart of the cave systems, the Solonians would instinctively seek out a crystal that used radioactive energy to fuel the final stage of their metamorphosis into telepathic energy beings. Solos was also rich in thaesium, which was why the humans colonised it. During its colonisation, it had an Earth Empire Skybase in orbit, called Skybase One. The skybase was used as a platform to manipulate the atmosphere into one suitable for humans; as a side-effect of this process, nocturnal firestorms began occurring in the sky. (TV: The Mutants)
