- Abner is a character from All Hail King Julien. He is a rebellious, dim-witted hillbilly lemur who, along with his wife, Becca, repeatedly tries to overthrow King Julien. Originally a mild mannered lemur with a dirty water hole problem, he is now an avid fighter for lemur freedom thanks to Banana Guy Mike. Who is really just King Julien in disguise. Upon the "death" of Banana Guy Mike, Abner and his wife Becca took over LALA and swore to avenge their fallen leader by overthrowing the king.
- Meaning: father of light; i.e., "enlightening." This was the name of the son of Ner and uncle of Saul. He was commander-in-chief of Saul's army:. He first introduced David to the court of Saul after the victory over Goliath. After the death of Saul, David was made king over Judah, and reigned in Hebron. Among the other tribes there was a feeling of hostility to Judah; and Abner, at the head of Ephraim, fostered this hostility in the interest of the house of Saul, whose son Ish-bosheth he caused to be proclaimed king.
- Abner is Arnold's pet pig in the Hey Arnold! TV Series. Abner was given as a wedding gift to Arnold's parents, Miles and Stella, from the "Green-Eyed people," who they helped save ("The Journal"), even though Grandpa Phil wanted to barbecue him on the spot. Stella first mistook Abner for a sow (a female pig) and wanted to name him "Abigail" until she learned that he was a boar (a male pig). Abner's best talent is digging out truffles. Abner is usually voiced by Craig Bartlett. Most likely, Abner was born in San Lorenzo, and is older than Arnold, as potbellied pigs can live up to 15-20 years.
- Abner is only referred to incidentally in Saul's history (1 Samuel 17:55, 26:5), and is not mentioned in the account of the disastrous battle of Gilboa when Saul's power was crushed. Seizing the youngest but only surviving of Saul's sons, Ishbaal, Abner set him up as king over Israel at Mahanaim, east of the Jordan. David, who was accepted as king by Judah alone, was meanwhile reigning at Hebron, and for some time war was carried on between the two parties. Soon however, Ishbaal was assassinated as he slept, and David became king of the reunited kingdoms.
- Abner is Master Payne's right-hand man, and as such, the second in command in Master Payne's Circus of Adventure. (Well, maybe third in command behind Payne -- who's second -- and Countess Marie, who really runs things, although Payne wouldn't admit it.) He first [ appears] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]] as Agatha and Krosp are bringing the lost Balthazar back to camp. This is merely the first of a very large number of scenes that will feature him; he's an important guy in the saga of the Circus, as befits his rank.
- Abner once collected parts with Aldo which the two would give to Paet. However when Abner met Edge he told him that he had not been asked to collect parts recently. When Viaman requested Edge’s assistance, he gave Edge a pass to enter the Holy District. Abner was asked to deliver it to Edge. When he found out that a mere hunter could get access to the Holy District so easily he was quite put out. He told Edge that he had been working for the Holy District for years and said he would quit.
