  • Empusa was the youngest of the three Lillim sister witches.
  • Countess Empusa was the wife of Count Raum. She was a Wraith of incredibly high-standing, and mother to Elizabeth.
  • In ancient Greek mythology, the Empusa (or Empousa) was a female supernatural monster or demoness. Hecate sent Empusa to harass travelers. It scared to death or ate anybody that traveled along the paths or roads it inhabited. The Empusae are sometimes described as having donkey-like features. They were believed to usually appear with one leg of brass and the other of a donkey. (Aristoph Ran. 294, Eccles. 1094.) Whenever a traveler addressed the Empusa with insulting words, it would flee and utter a shrill sound.
  • In Greek mythology, Empusae were a mix of demigoddesses and vampiric demons, who were servants of Hecate. As a group they assumed the role of the singular Empusa, daughter of Hecate and the spirit Mormo. They had a leg of bronze and a hoofed foot of a donkey. They were often associated with other demigoddesses such like Lamia and Mormo, which, just as empusae, were considered demons or spectres in later mythology and in other pagan religions. Empusae often seduced men (especially sleeping men) in order to feed on their flesh and blood.
  • The Empusa is a powerful strain of Queen used by the Succubus Brood, which is known for favoring the use of Queens.
  • They always attack with elemental magic from far away, but are not excessively fast or resistant. However, all of them have a special elemental attack which can be very dangerous, especially the Soul Reaper one. A Soul Reaper heroine is fought near the end of Paseron ruins as a boss for a quest, while four other heroines (each for every element) are found scattered in different places of Hades, each of them holding an elemental crystal which is required to open Hades' Treasure Chamber. Recommended resistances: Leech, Fire, Cold, Poison
