The Woman in Street spoke to Deirdre Langton as she wandered in a daze after thinking that youngster Tracy Langton was dead, buried under a pile of wood that had been shed onto the street after a lorry crashed into the Rovers. The woman noticed Deirdre's condition and asked if she was alright. Deirdre replied that "they" had done their best, referring to the emergency services, and walked on. What Deirdre didn't know was that Tracy had been snatched by a distraught Sally Norton moments before the crash and was unhurt.
