Palaeopropithecinae is an extinct subfamily of lemurs that includes four genera. It is the only subfamily within the family Palaeopropithecidae, also known as the sloth lemurs. Despite their common names, members of Palaeopropithecidae were no more closely related to sloths than any other lemur species.
