On 31 October 2009 Rovers travelled to Milton Keynes to face MK Dons in a League One fixture. The Pirates were keen to put an end to the four game losing streak on which they had found themselves, but unfortunately for them the slide could not be halted. This fifth consecutive defeat continued the team's run of losses stretching back to manager Paul Trollope's Manager of the Month award for September, and meant that the club had lost all five of its games in October.

abstract
| - On 31 October 2009 Rovers travelled to Milton Keynes to face MK Dons in a League One fixture. Rovers' late consolation goal was originally credited to Darryl Duffy, who up until this point was yet to score his first league goal of the season, but the scorer was later changed to Chris Lines.
