| - Eleven new episodes were produced in 1981 as part of the Space Stars show. The plotlines are rooted in science fiction, and have story direction and content similar to Jonny Quest and Space Ghost. This series is set on the distant planet Amzot (renamed Quasar in the Space Stars episodes). The name "Amzot" was first mentioned in the Space Ghost episode "The Molten Monsters of Moltar" (in which the Herculoids made a brief guest appearance) and in the series proper in the "Time Creatures" episode.
- This 1960s Animated Series from Hanna-Barbera was unlike its contemporary, Space Ghost, in that it was set on Quasar, a primitive planet protected by King Zandor. Zandor's wife, Tarra, and their son, Dorno, were the only other known human inhabitants. For some reason, aliens kept trying to conquer an isolated, largely uninhabited jungle world full of monsters. Go figure. In the early 1980s, the Herculoids joined Space Ghost in the Animated Anthology series Space Stars.
- The Herculoids featured the warrior king Zandor; his wife, Tara, and their son, Dorno. These three appeared to be the only human inhabitants of their primitive planet. When trouble arose, Zandor summoned a small army of exotic beasts: Igoo, an ape with tough, rocklike skin; Zok, a dragon that shot laser beams from its eyes and tail; Tundro, a triceratops that shot flaming rocks from its horn, and Gloop and Gleep, a pair of gelatinous shapeshifters.
- The Herculoids is an American Saturday-morning animated-cartoon television series, created and designed by Alex Toth, that was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The show debuted on September 9, 1967 on CBS. Hanna-Barbera produced one season for the original airing of the show, although the original 18 episodes were rerun during the 1968–69 television season, with The Herculoids ending its run on September 6, 1969. Each episode consisted of two seperate Herculoids segments.
