William Hunt (1855 - 13 January 1943) was an architect and politician. Born in Tarrant Gunville in Dorset, he was the son of Charles Hunt, a thatcher and builder. By July 1876 he was working as a building contractor in Chelsea, when he married Celia Jane Holgate. By 1891 he was living in Fulham and described himself as an architect and surveyor. He moved to Balham in south London. He was elected unopposed at the first election to Wandsworth Borough Council in November 1900 representing Balham Ward, he was subsequently a borough alderman. Mayor of Wandsworth 1902-3.
