It's very, very rare you get a compilation CD that's so solid—particularly under the guise of a "Soundtrack". Seriously—most soundtracks are the reason why P2P was invented—it allows you to get around getting what's essentially a 15 dollar single with one decent track and a bunch of awful, awful b-sides. This one, however, is excellent. The bands were all hand chosen by Craig McCracken, creator of The Powerpuff Girls (David Byrne was also slated to appear, but his contribution, "Buttercup Blossom" was cut.), and, man if the dude doesn't have awesome taste. Later, they even made a cartoon based around "Signal In The Sky", with a new character named "Robin Schnieder" after Robert Schneider. The only cuts on here I don't care for are the Dressy Bessy and Cornelius, though his is OK, just a bi

Of the Powerpuff Girls CDs, this is the most essential. The City Of Soundsville featuring expanded cues by Jim Venable is excellent too, but give a pass to Power Pop! -- it's what happens when the label sees a hot property and tries to make money by cutting out anyone involved with making said property hot. A couple good songs (including the Shonen Knife one from here, and a Ramones-tinged version of bis' ending theme), but for the most part, pretty much awful. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
