There have been 22 supercentenarians from the Caribbean verified or pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). The oldest person ever from the Caribbean is Violet Brown of Jamaica, born on 10 March 1900, aged 117 years, 326 days. Oldest male is Emiliano Mercado del Toro, of Puerto Rico who died in 2007 aged 115 years, 156 days. As of 30 January 2018, the GRG has only verified one living supercentenarian in the Caribbean,.
