Romanchych blossomed with the Flames, playing four and a half seasons there. He scored a career high 22 goals in 1973-74. In 1976-77 he was demoted to the Tulsa Oilers. The next year, his last in hockey, was with the Maine Mariners. He played in 298 NHL games, scoring 68 goals and 97 assists. Romanchych coached the Abottsford Falcons of the British Columbia Hockey League in 1985-86 and 1986-87.
