Grodo was a member of the Crodin city-state on Shri, and when that state worked with others such as the Zor'l to create the Zor'L'Ti Cooperation Citadel, he moved there to start work defeating The Great. Combining Crodin lava tech with Zor'l science, he created The Construct along with a line of similar creations. When these failed to do much damage to the Great, he began work on a new model, the Destroyer Construct. However, this didn't pan out as the program was scrapped. This lead him to begin to doubt Ganakos and his "pretty words". (Squids in Forests: "Fried Calamari")

This lead him to begin to doubt Ganakos and his "pretty words". (Squids in Forests: "Fried Calamari") Many years later, another Crodin would bear the name Grodo: Grodo XVIII. It is unknown if there's any relationship between the two. (Ginkus' Odyssey: "The Last of the Zorelta")
