  • Final Crisis is a comic book story arc storyline that appeared in comic books published by DC Comics in 2008, primarily the seven-issue miniseries of the same name written by Grant Morrison. The series deals with alien villain Darkseid's plot to overthrow reality, and the subsequent death and corruption of various DC characters and their universe. Final Crisis also includes other tie-in miniseries, some of which also feature Superman characters, such as Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, and Final Crisis: Superman Beyond.
  • Final Crisis is published by DC Comics. Cover price is $3.99.
  • Final Crisis came out of several ideas Grant Morrison had when he returned to DC Comics in 2003. Morrison said, "I pitched a huge crossover event called Hypercrisis, which didn’t happen for various reasons. Some of Hypercrisis went into Seven Soldiers, some went into All-Star Superman, some went into 52 and some of it found a home in Final Crisis." According to Grant Morrison, work finally began on Final Crisis #1 in early 2006, with the intention of the series being a thematic and literal sequel to Seven Soldiers and 52, two projects that Morrison was heavily involved in at the time.
  • When the Source initiated the demise of the Fourth World and the Death of the New Gods, it did so on one mistaken assumption: that extinction would end the animosity between the New Gods of Apokolips and New Genesis. The New Gods resumed their war in heaven, a war that ultimately ended when the forces of evil gained control of the Anti-Life Equation which can destroy free will. With this, Darkseid, the Dread Lord of Apokolips and God of Evil, finally achieved his ultimate goal, and in his victory, the survivors on both sides fell through reality, landing on New Earth just before the Infinite Crisis. From here, Darkseid consolidated his position, possessing a mobster named Boss Dark Side and uniting the evil gods of the Fourth World. The good gods could not fight him.
  • Peacekeeper rumbles softly as the once-proud building falls and creates a bridge to the Inquisitors' base. "Excellent," she murmurs. She touches the left side of her helm, the old radio crackling to life from its connection to the remote--the only reason it was repaired enough to work even this much. "All units, follow Astrotrain in." The drone troops stir to life and begin marching forwards, shields and weaponry at the ready as they move towards the bridge. She, for her part, makes her way down from her vantage point, rifle in her left hand and an electron-bomb in the other. Her expression is what has become the default expression over the years--simply a flat, cold expressionlessness.
  • Darkseid hatched a plot to take over Earth via the Anti-Life equation as the New Gods got reborn as people on Earth and had to be awoken after the New Gods got killed off by Darkseid via magic bullets. Infinite Crisis was called the Middle-Crisis and this was to be the Final Crisis if you don't count "Trinity" and "Blackest Night" and other Crisis-like miniseries. Anyway it was an awful series that cost too much money to the average comic book fanboy to collect. The story was so bad that it burned the retinas of any Fanboy who dared read the Miniseries.
