In 15 A.E., when a Lambent Leviathan was spotted approaching New Jacinto, the CNV Vale of Dane, alongside the CNV Fenmont, formed a defensive line in front of the harbor of Vectes Naval Base. They opened fire on the creature with their heavy cannons, which caused the Leviathan to plunge back into the water. However, soon after, the Leviathan rose again out of the water and was close enough for the Vale of Dane to use her 30 mm close-in, rapid-fire defensive guns, after which the Leviathan disappeared. It then re-emerged from under the Fenmont, sending the vessel flying out of the water and back down, causing it to begin sinking. The Vale of Dane was unable to open fire on the Lambent Leviathan as it made landfall and began releasing Polyps onto the shore.
