  • Barry Robinson is an obese, clinically insane and chemically retarded child. Normally, Barry takes drugs that retard his criminal mind. As a result, he is naive and slow, and struggles making moral choices. For instance, when he remarks to Steve that he should respect her privacy when Steve tells of him overhearing Francine talking in "All About Steve". Barry can sometimes be reasonably nice. When on his drugs he takes Stan's insults with rather good humor or completely ignores them. In "Don't Look a Smith Horse in the Mouth" he is shown to be able to recognize insults. When Steve insults Snot, Barry raises an eyebrow and gives a sarcastic "Ouch".
  • Barry Robinson is a fat kid who is one of Steve Smith's best friends in the TV series, American Dad!. He is generally a good friend of Steve, however he takes vitamins that retard his brain to prevent him from being evil. While drugged Barry is mentally retarded, immature, and constantly makes childish remarks. If he doesn't take these vitamins he becomes evil, and speaks with a voice that sounds a lot like Gary Oldman. When he is not drugged, he is knowledgeable, can easily manipulate people, and is very good at planning out his crimes, so he doesn't get in trouble. It is very likely that his insane personality comes from his unattentive parents, as several times he has revealed that his parents don't care about him, and has also hinted several other bad things about his parents as well.

It is very likely that his insane personality comes from his unattentive parents, as several times he has revealed that his parents don't care about him, and has also hinted several other bad things about his parents as well. Evil Barry is only seen once in the episode "With Friends Like Steve's". In this episode after an extended stay at the Smith's house, Barry starts to hang out with Stan and Stan eventually takes him off his vitamins. As a result, he becomes evil and tries to manipulate Stan and Francine into thinking Steve is a bad kid. He does so by stealing Stan's beloved Tara Reid commemorative plate, makes Steve touch it, breaks them while wearing gloves, and with the essence of Steve's fingerprints Steve is framed and sent to a juvenile detention island. While Steve is away Barry goes insane and tries to kill Stan, but Steve returns from the island with one of Barry's pills and retards him again. After this episode Evil Barry is never seen again. He is voiced by Eddie Kaye Thomas when is good and Craig Ferguson for his evil side.

When Steve insults Snot, Barry raises an eyebrow and gives a sarcastic "Ouch". Also, despite the drugs, there are times when his evil side leaks through. When Toshi, Snot, and Barry were beating Steve in "When a Stan Loves a Woman", during the beating Barry for no apparent reason says "let's kill his parents next, let's kill them all!" In "Spring Break-Up" he gets excited at the idea of hitting one of the girls with a beer bottle. In "Home Wrecker", he lies to Principal Lewis about how many shots were fired by mobsters leading to a nasty bullet wound in the principal's arm. When the principal asked why he lied he says it was revenge for tipping his candy over at the start of the episode and then twists the wound adding to the pain. And in "You Debt Your Life", when Barry becomes the school public address announcer, he says a highly dark and disturbing speech into the microphone for the entire school to hear, before Principal Lewis takes over as announcer.
