The Lost Twenty referred to the group of Jedi Masters, numbering twenty in total, who had renounced the Jedi Order throughout its history. One notable, (and the twentieth), member of the Lost Twenty was Master Dooku, who abandoned the Jedi after the death of his former Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn, at the Battle of Naboo in the years preceding the Clone Wars. Dooku, having also become disillusioned with the Galactic Republic, peacefully left the Jedi Order while secretly pledging his allegiance to the Sith as Darth Tyranus. Dooku, along with the rest of the Lost Twenty, was commemorated with a statue bust in the Archives of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

- The Lost Twenty, earlier known as The Lost, was the name given to the Jedi Masters who had voluntarily resigned their commission and left the Jedi Order over ideological differences.
- In 17 ABY, the Dark Lord Kishkumen received intelligence of a portal into an Extragalactic Star Cluster. Located within a temporal anomaly, fifteen years would pass in the cluster while just under three months passed in the galaxy. Knowing the portal was about to close, Kishkumen located two Dark Knights and a large team of Disciples from the Cult of Shadow, helped them complete their mission quickly, then took them to the Jade Empire. Time being of the essence, he sent a detailed message to his master, Sivter.

Their ship touched down on an uninhabited planet, where they established a colony, living off the land and fighting the Jedi of the Kol-Rekali clan. Over the next fifteen years, they and their children progressed under Kishkumen's tutelage. In the end, after births, executions and attrition to the environment and the Jedi, they totalled twenty capable Force-users, plus seven younger children. The Dark Lord dubbed them the Lost Twenty. Some had been weak in the Force before: Kishkumen taught them how to strengthen their connection. Their children were trained from birth, and the oldest were promoted as Kishkumen saw fit. Many of the Lost Twenty are Dark Knights; none are Dark Lords. As students of Kishkumen, they frequently use Djem So, and some know limited alchemy. The Lost Twenty constitute Kishkumen's greatest contribution to the Cult of Shadow. Utterly loyal to the cause, they were considered by Kishkumen to be well worth the sacrifice of fifteen years of his life. After his death, they bore a serious grudge against Temap, the Padawan who killed him. Several volunteered to assist Dark Lord Siriss Cortann in rectifying the situation. The last members of the Lost Twenty turned traitor along with the reborn Kishkumen at the Battle of Arcanix, and were killed.
