Beric neither denied nor confirmed that he knew the insurrection was going to occur, but Paul demanded his enemies be eliminated. After Beric and the Guild did as Paul wished, their allotment of melange was increased.

Paul demanded that Beric himself take Thorvald and his cargo hold full of allies out into deep space, and abandon them far away from all civilized planets with little or no resources -- which Beric and the Guild did. Paul still demanded that the Guild transport House Atreides heavy bomber spacecraft to Thorvald's home planet of Ipyr, which was used to and kill and sterilize all life on the lush, populated world. After Beric and the Guild did as Paul wished, their allotment of melange was increased.
