The Bureau of Relocation or BuReLoc for short was an agency of the CoDominium. Its mission was to settle habitable worlds that were being discovered after the invention of the Anderson Drive. On worlds that had pleasant climates and plentiful resources, it encouraged voluntary emigration though advertising campaigns. The primary method used, though, was involuntary deportation. These transportees were originally criminals but the types of crimes eligible spread to those of a political nature. Toward the end of the CoDominium era, the BuReLoc would carry out sweeps of slums and of inconvenient minority groups to fill transport ships. The latter included Indian tribes on reservations which had valuable minerals in the United States and ethnic minorities in the Soviet Union such as Balts, Ukr
