It was relatively cheap, had a small target profile, and could be churned out in huge numbers. The Swarm-class was equipped with shields, and had a specially-designed A.I. Not only was the A.I. programmed with every known fighter manoeuvre and tactic, as well as extensive records of past battles, but it was also able to learn from its mistakes and improvise. More-over, every Swarm-class was linked to the others, enabling all to learn from the mistakes of one. This made a squadron of them extremely dangerous. The encryption of the droid brain and of the link between the fighters was made by the best and brightest slicers in the galaxy, and was impossible to break.
