Kingdom On An Island Of The Apes was a special original story for Marvel Comics' Planet of the Apes Magazine written by Doug Moench and brought to visual life by Rico Rival. The story contained a nod to H.G. Wells' The Time Machine, whilst also referencing the original Planet of the Apes movie - unlike the other original stories written by Moench (movie tie-in 'Quest for the Planet of the Apes' aside) - but placed the action in the decidedly un-Apes setting of Medieval England. A sequel - Beast on the Planet of the Apes - was published in a later issue of the magazine, with artwork by Herb Trimpe, Dan Adkins and Sal Trapani.
