Flora Collins (1797 - ?) was the mother of Desmond Collins and the cousin of Quentin Collins and Gabriel Collins (1123). She was well-known for being an author of many romance novels. Flora was married in 1814, when she was seventeen years old (1167), and gave birth to Desmond shortly thereafter. Her husband died sometime prior to 1840. Flora was last known to be alive in 1840. Her fate after that was never revealed, but she persumably lived out a normal life and died sometime before 1897.

In a 1967 episode, Barnabas Collins, while looking at a cottage on the Collins estate, finds a handkerchief embroidered with the initlals "F McA C" (294). It's possible that this unnamed house could have been Rose Cottage, and the handkerchief had belonged to Flora. Flora was last known to be alive in 1840. Her fate after that was never revealed, but she persumably lived out a normal life and died sometime before 1897.
