| abstract
| - Lee Maddison is a former defender who started his career at Bristol Rovers. He spent just over four years with the Rovers first team, during which time he had a brief loan spell at Bath City, and he made 73 appearances in the Football League before leaving to join Northampton Town in 1995 for a transfer fee of £25,000. Towards the end of his career in 2004, while he was at Gretna, Lee was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It effectively spelt the end of his footballing career, although he did go on to make a handful more appearances. He later captained Team Give Blood, a football team created to raise awareness of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and increase the number of blood donors.
