Frederick William Barrett (born January 26, 1950 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman who played 745 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the Minnesota North Stars and Los Angeles Kings. His brother, John, also played in the NHL. He played junior hockey for the Ottawa Capitals of the Central Junior Hockey League and the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1965 to 1970. The Minnesota North Stars chose him 20th iverall in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft. Barrett played in 745 NHL games and scored 25 goals and 123 assists.

He played for the Minnesota North Stars and Los Angeles Kings. His brother, John, also played in the NHL. He played junior hockey for the Ottawa Capitals of the Central Junior Hockey League and the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1965 to 1970. The Minnesota North Stars chose him 20th iverall in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft. He turned pro in 1970-71 with the North Stars and scored 13 assists in 57 games. The next season was spent with the Cleveland Barons. That would be his only season of minor pro. Barrett then played for the North Stars until 1983, when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings. He retired in 1984 after one season with the Kings. Barrett played in 745 NHL games and scored 25 goals and 123 assists.
