The cause of the conflict was North Korea's refusal to comply with UN Security Council resolution to halt it`s nuclear program which was close to producing a working fission device. This war is remarkable in the way that it was the first fought with an alliance between the United States and the Soviet Union, it set a new turn in the relations between the two world superpowers which had been severely strained since the Great Middle East War.
