The Oris Triad was formed to protect the planet of Oris and the government’s other member worlds from the Laro Empire and the Rolani Dominion. Three of the most respected and intelligent Orisians were chosen among the population of Oris to lead their people through the Laro Civil War. The number three was decided upon to keep one individual from having too much power, and to break the tie if two people had a difference of opinion. These three individuals became known as the Triad.

abstract	The Oris Triad was formed to protect the planet of Oris and the government’s other member worlds from the Laro Empire and the Rolani Dominion. Three of the most respected and intelligent Orisians were chosen among the population of Oris to lead their people through the Laro Civil War. The number three was decided upon to keep one individual from having too much power, and to break the tie if two people had a difference of opinion. These three individuals became known as the Triad. Unlike the other two factions in the civil war, the Oris Triad couldn’t compete militarily, so they decided to control trade within the Laro Sector and basically become too valuable for any faction to destroy. To further ensure that they wouldn’t be attacked by the other two factions, the Triad secretly worked as information brokers to the other two factions and fed them just enough information to keep one side from gaining a tactical advantage over the other. It can be said that the Triad, more than any other faction, were responsible for the perpetual stalemate of the Laro Civil War.
