The Holocaust remained a prime example of carrying out these values, with the enslavement and slaughter of millions of people from groups such as Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, dissenters and prisoners of war in concentration camps. The Nazi Party stole symbols and rituals from various historical powers such as the Roman Empire, such as the "Heil" greeting, derived from a formal Roman greeting. The swastika was also taken from another historical era. In 1945, the Nazi Party fell from power, surrendering to the Allied forces. Neo-Nazi groups emerged throughout post-World War II history, such as John Gill's neo-Nazi movement on Ekos in the 2260s. (TOS: "Patterns of Force")
