In this book, the Dalai Lama asks us to be mindful and present in the moment and to be constantly vigilant in monitoring our attitudes, actions and motivations. He goes on to ask us to engage in personal research on our own mental functioning and to examine the possibility of making some positive changes within ourselves (p. vii). Recipient of the 1989 Nobel Prize for Peace, the Dalai Lama is highly respected as one of our greatest spiritual teachers.
