abstract
  • Cort was raised by his mother and father at their home in the deserts of Tatooine not far from Anchorhead, Corts father was a hunter by trade and used his skills to support his family by selling his quarry to the nearby settlement. When Cort was old enough he would often accompany his father when he went hunting and sought to learn everything he could about his family trade. His father was particularly skilled with a pair of protector revolvers that he used, a skill that Cort would later inherit and come to be known for. It was in his late teens when tragedy first struck the young Cort; he had gone hunting alone and upon returning found his home destroyed and his parents murdered. Using the skills his late father had taught him, he discovered that his home had been raided by a large group of Tuskens and although his father had fought back valiantly he had been ultimately overwhelmed. Armed with his fathers revolvers and fueled by the rage of his loss, Cort tracked the raiders to their camp and finished what his father had started, leaving none alive. Years passed and Cort moved on, accepting the tragedy and building a life for himself. He rebuilt the family home, continued the craft of his father and eventually started a family of his own on the foundations; marrying his childhood sweetheart, Alice whom eventually gave birth to his son, Gordon. For a while, the Hollinger family lived well, Cort, like his father before him took his son hunting and together they provided for the family, they returned to a loving wife and mother. It was only when the quarry from his hunts were losing their value in Anchorhead did things begin to take a turn for the worse. Money was dwindling and Cort was getting desperate, in that desperation he used his hunting skills and gunmanship for less than legal activities working as a low-level hitman for a local criminal organisation. During that time he hid the truth from his wife and son often disappearing for weeks at a time, this put an ever increasing strain on the family despite a better quality of living. This reached it's boiling point when Cort was forced to admit the truth of his activities and Alice gave him a choice; leave that life behind or lose his family. He chose his family, a choice he would later regret. The organisation Cort had left behind did not take kindly to a valuable asset cutting ties with them and quickly came after Cort and his family, he was forced to watch as they took his son away and executed his wife in front of him. They attempted to blackmail Cort into returning his skillset to their fold in return for the life of Gordon Jnr. but rage had already bubbled over the mind of the recently widowed man, he killed the men that had murdered his wife but his son was already gone. As the red mist unwound itself from his mind, he realised that he had lost the only chance of saving his boy whom they had likely killed and with nothing left, his family life shattered, Cort began to hunt the men that hunted him. With his fathers revolvers in hands, he started a bloody campaign against his former employers desperate to right the wrongs he had brought upon his departed family and atone for the mistakes that rested on his shoulders. Cort started at the bottom and worked his way up the hierachy over the course of four years, crippling their operations where he could and avoiding or killing the hitmen they sent after him. At the end of those hard fought and brutal years all that was left of the crumbling orgasnisation was its boss whom Cort had tracked and cornered on Coruscant, the hunt ended on a busy street in a vicious firefight that culminated in Cort taking a shot to the chest and using his last conscious action he put a slug between the eyes of his former employer. With his murderous quest for revenge at an end, Cort, accepting his fate; succumbed to his injury, the blood loss and infection of the wound should have taken his life but instead left him hospitalised and comatose. Five months passed before he woke up, atrophy had left him frail and rehabilitation took another eleven months before he was capable of living independently again. During his rehabilitation, Cort was initially suicidal having expected to die where he had been shot over a year ago but this gave way to acceptance and over the course of his recovery he put his past to rest. Towards the end of his treatment, his money ran out and the sessions stopped. Wanting to finish his rehabilitation, he sought work as a bounty hunter.Family Cort had a son and a wife both of which he has lost.
