Colonel Georges-Françoise Picard was the commanding officer of the {{pre|SS|Yorktown|NCC-108| (NCC-108)} from 2204 to 2217. He was the longest serving commander, serving a total of 13 years aboard the ship as CO. He was preceded by Brigadier general Gene Roddenberry, and succeeded by Major Gary Mitchell. (Star Trek is...) It was the author's intention that Georges-Francoise Picard be the son of Major general Georges Picard, and therefore an ancestor of Jean-Luc Picard, although this was not written explicitly.
