| - In new Cambria, licence plates (more correctly "registration plates") are issued by one of the four territorial divisions of the National Automobile Agency. In most licence plates, there is a small sticker, which indicates the month and year of plate renewal, that the driver sticks to the licence plates. The driver may choose one of the several standard designs offered. Most designs include black characters on white reflective background. The most recent designs always include the country's name (sometimes in several languages). The font used is a variation of FE-Schrift. The international vehicle registration code for the country is "RNC" (Republic of New Cambria in English, or République de Nouvelle-Cambrie in French). The standard dimensions of the license plate are 300 × 150 mm. The European-styled 520 × 111 mm plates may be ordered for vehicles that have European-styled bumpers that dont fit he smaller dimensions. Registration plates are assigned to people, not cars. Therefore, when somebody buys a new car, thier license plate from their previous car must be carried over. Motorists can only buy new license plates if they own more than one vehicle. It is illegal to sell a plate to another motorist, unless it is a personalised plate. Serial formats Every is licence plate number is a unique combination of letters, digits, and/or hyphens up to 6 characters long (including hyphens). Most cars use the series A-1111, AA-111, or AAA-11 (which gives 2,675,322 possible combinations); the the beginning zeros are omitted (i.e. A-1, A-11, A-111, AA-1, AA-11, and AAA-1 are valid sub-series too). Licence plate numbers are usually assigned in ascending order, but the combinations that may appear offensive (e.g. TIT-5 that may be interpreted as "TITS") are not used. By default the four territorial divisions of the National Automobile Agency assign the licence plate number with the first letter within the next range: Personalised plates can be ordered, however, these come at an extra cost and can only be up to six characters long.
