The Social Justice Party traces back to the Republican Party and some social liberals of the Democratic Party. Since the Helvetian Valley Revolution the Social Justice Party supported progressive reform, protesting against segregation, and going against the social conservative policies of the Nationalist Party. Holding the majority in the Sacramento Valley, most are Roman Catholic and identify with with Swiss-American. While holding partial control of the assembly seats in the Canton of New Berne Bay the party cannot challenge the Nationalists at the cantonal level due to the area being more concerned on issues of economics. Holding a Laissez-faire economic policy since 1977, the party lost a major coalition to the Nationalists when many of economic liberals saw that the party was out of touch with low income and middle income families.
