The Spirit God, who binds the four Great Spirits and created this land, is like a symbol of birth and benevolence. However, she also brings life and death to humans. - Ramprasad Chanda writes the following about the development of Durga from primitive goddess to her current form: "...it is possible to distinguish two different strata – one primitive and the other advanced. The primitive form of Durga is the result of syncretism of a mountain-goddess worshiped by the dwellers of the Himalaya and the Vindhyas, a goddess worshiped by the nomadic Abhira shepherd, the vegetation spirit conceived as a female, and a war-goddess. As her votaries advanced in civilization the primitive war-goddess was transformed into the personification of the all-destroying time (Kali), the vegetation spirit into the primordial energy (Adya Sakti) and the saviouress from “samsara” (cycle of rebirths) , and gradually brought into line with the Brahmanic mythology and philosophy."
- Durga ドゥルガー is a third evolution MAG in Phantasy Star Online. A second or third tier MAG can become another third tier form when it is a level divisible by 5 and at least level 50 after feeding, but does not meet the requirements to evolve into any specific fourth tier form. To become a Durga, it must be fed by a ranger with an odd section ID (Greenill, Bluefull, Pinkal, Oran, Whitill) and have MIND higher than DEX and DEX higher than POW. Only whole POW, DEX and MIND levels count for these comparisons; the 0%–100% progress meters are disregarded.
