Gors Velen is a port city on the northern coast of the North Sea in Temeria. It is just east of the Cidaris, south of Oxenfurt and northwest of Dorian. The forest of Brokilon lies immediately to the south of the city. Kardo Street runs through the city connecting the Main gate to the Sea gate. The town is also well known for its fish market on Circle Street, whose strong aromas attract the local cat population. In the centre of the market stands the "Thief's Bastion".

- Gors Velen žije hlavně díky zakázkám čarodějné školy Arethusy z ostrova Thanedd (a nejedná se o žádné laciné zboží). Díky tomu se obyvatelstvo ke všem mágům a čarodějkám chová uctivě a vděčně. Celé město obklopují bytelné hradby, za nimiž se nacházejí budovy všeho možného určení. Zejména o luxusní podniky zde není nouze. Vyhlášený je například honosný hostinec Stříbrná volavka nebo dům U Rozepnutého korzetu. Ti místní obyvatelé, které neživí potřeby čarodějek, jsou z velké části rybáři. Svůj úlovek nabízejí na rozsáhlém rybím trhu. Nachází se zde i pobočka bankovní sítě trpasličího rodu Giancardiů. Prosperitě města přispívá i fakt, že leží daleko od hranic a tudíž nikdy nebylo obléháno.

Patnáct mil západně od Gors Velenu leží Hirundum - velká zemědělská usedlost se sady, zahradami a rybníky, kde se pěstuje zelenina a ovoce pro celé okolí.
