In 91 AG, he and the group were responsible for the destruction of Jet's hometown and the death of his parents. In late 99 AG, they invaded another village at the western Earth Kingdom coast, forcing the residents to become refugees, including Than and Ying.

Team Avatar wist de Ruige Rhino's echter te verjagen. Later probeert kolonel Mongke Iroh en Zuko te arresteren. Iroh groet Mongke vriendelijk, maar de kolonel is niet geïnteresseerd in een gezellige reünie. Hij laat de Ruige Rhino's direct aanvallen. Iroh en Zuko weten de aanval echter af te slaan en ontsnappen. Het is niet bekend wat er later van Mongke is geworden.
