| - The episode starts in the air as it shows at least a few dozen of these mysteriously cloaked BakuGods are flying, led by the mysterious one with the strange face face. One of the cloaked BakuGods says my Lord, we are nearly at the temple but the BakuGod leader says it appears we aren’t the only ones as they stop and see that the HighGods are already there with the DarkGods apparently distracted or imprisoned by unknown means. Another soldier asks what do we do now sir as the leader says become one with the trees, transfer yourself quietly to the grounds and await instructions as they land below, each one of them hides him/herself in a tree and slowly move swiftly and stealthy towards the temple grounds. Soon, they arrive as the BakuGod leader uses his crystal eye to see what is happening - Maxoric trying to get through the barrier. While he is watching this, he says quietly now that we have arrived, you are in good hands successor as he retracts his eye and there is silence everywhere. Meanwhile, the scene shifts back to the dark world where Zakaros' group ended up while trying to escape from the HighGods. As they look around and see the erie shadows and changing tones of the colors around then, Blakai says this place is creepy as Masquerade says honestly, kind of like it - guess it's because I'm used to places like this. Thorius says in any case, this must be where the final temple is but even I do not know of this world. Zakaros looks around and says maybe we should try there as he points his staff to what appears to be a floating corridor in the dark space with what appears to be a door frame at the end. Everybody notices that they are standing near the 1st step down a long flight of stairs towards that corridor so Blakai says let's go as they head down. After a few minutes, they arrive at the corridor where there are amazed at statues of various BakuGods and other heroes of the past as they arrive at a pedestal that is glowing brightly. As they gather around it, they see that the final piece of the Amulet is right in front of them resting a small pool of water. Zakaros tries to grab it but his hand goes right through it. Everybody is a bit surprised as Zakaros takes his hand out, which is wet but he says I didn't feel it at all - perhaps it's another illusion. However, Gezard wakes up and says nope, that's the real thing as Ganoreda says Gezard is right, Zakaros - the Guardian of this place would not leave it out in the open like this - be cautious. At that moment, a sinister voice appears from the shadows and says so, you are the heir to the MasterGod linage as everybody looks around since the voice is coming from everywhere. The voice says I hate to disappoint you but you will not be able to obtain that unless I allow it. Zakaros says show yourself as the voice says very well and reveals himself to be a Darkus, scorpion like Bakugan – with one of his claws at Zakaros’ neck with a bit of poison on it. The others get ready to defend him but Zakaros defiantly says stand back. The others do so as Zakaros looks at the Bakugan with intense determination and says is this the way a Guardian conducts himself in front of a successor. The Bakugan says no but I wanted to see if you would flinch – you do not and I’m most impressed. He puts his claw down and as the poison drips, he says please allow me to introduce myself – I am Darkus Borg Mahisas as well as the final Guardian to the Master’s Amulet as well as the Shadow Guardian. Zakaros lowers his guard and bows a bit, saying it's a pleasure Mahisas. Mahisas says I have been watching you carefully throughout your little journey and even before that and I must say, you are quite interesting for a successor. Zakaros raises an eyebrow and says you've been watching me as Mahisas laughs and says but I'm not the only one - the Attribute Masters and Tsurambo have been keeping a close on you as well, isn't that right Thorius. Everybody looks at Thorius as Thorius says I've already told Zakaros that I was sent to keep an eye on him by the Masters but Zakaros says but I never expected I would be watched constantly - it shows they are not confident in my abilities. Thorius says that's not it as Mahisas says he is right successor with Zakaros saying explain. Mahisas says the reason they have been watching you is you are the last successor - there will never be another one after you and so it is imperative that you remain as we say, intact. Masquerade then walks up and says that's a bunch of nonsense as Mahisas says in a bit of anger who are you. Masquerade says none of your business, fang boy - if the Masters really had faith in Zakaros; they wouldn't be watching him like a spy. Mahisas says watch your tongue human as Masquerade smiles and says make me. Mahisays and Masquerade then go eye to eye but Zakaros pushes them apart and says all right you two, you can fight later with Masquerade saying fine with me with Mahisas agreeing. Mahisas so anyway but then, he happens to notice the orb with Kachia Gell inside it and swiftly, takes it in his claws without the others knowing how. Zakaros says give that back quickly - you don't know what that holds as Mahisas holds his claw back up to Zakaros' head and says relax - I know more about Gell that you think. Blakai says how do you know Kachia Gell as Mahisas says Gell and I belonged to the same Master and therefore, I know him more and plus, he considered me to be his only friend after our Master betrayed him. Thorius says so, that's what happened when Gell rampaged so long ago as Mahisas says correct old one and he continues by saying I also know that in order to achieve your goals you will require his power - I will attempt to speak with him for you and maybe, he might help you. Zakaros says I don't know - he seemed really intent on eating me as Mahisas says he's always had a bit appetite but enough of that as he goes to the door. As he climbs up it, he injects his poison into the 5 circular slots on the door and in a split second, the door activates and a portal opens from the door. Mahisas says are you ready for the final test as Zakaros says yes and starts to walk forward. Everybody tries to follow him but a barrier appears and they can't get through. Zakaros says what is this as Mahisas says I'm not fool, you have had help in your tests - this test will require you and you alone; do I make myself clear. Zakaros says yes as Mahisas goes through first and Zakaros goes next. After the portal closes, Blakai looks around says uh, Thorius - where's Masquerade as they see Masquerade is gone. Back with Zakaros, he walks through and sees a massive maze of darkness. Mahisas then says somewhere that your test is to find and touch me as he laughs and disappears. Zakaros says that's it very well - no problem as he begins looking. Meanwhile, in another part of the world, Mahisas goes to a secret place where he takes the orb out and looks at it for a moment. He says now, let's see how you have been doing old friend as he touches it and his eyes glow. Soon, Mahisas arrives in the same world that Zakaros did in Gell's mind. Mahisas says ah, I see there has been no change as he then sees Kachia Gell in the distance. He floats over as he sees Gell is resting near a molten lava pit where it appears the spikes on his back are absorbing the energy. Just then, he puts his eyes when he senses somebody near and attacks but at that point, Mahisas stabs him in the nose as Gell says ouch, Gell's only weakness as he then says wait, Gell know only one that knows that as Mahisas says nice to see you too. Gell takes notice but doesn't look too happy and says harshly what does scorpion want with Gell as he sits back down. Mahisas says that's not a very nice way to treat an old friend and in fact, your only friend. Gell says Gell have no friends - only enemies but Gell remember scorpion, he help Gell but not enough to save Gell. Mahisas sighs and says I already told you, after I objected to our master - he had me imprisoned and placed as the Temple Guardian here - it was not my choice and I could not help you. Gell ponders in meditation as he says Gell understands but Gell want to be alone. Mahisas says actually, I'm here for a particular reason or rather, for a particular person. Gell looks at him angrily and says if scorpion means the young master's kind - then Gell smash him when Gell free. Mahisas says sternly but slyly well, you won't get the chance then. Gell looks at him and asks what does scorpion mean as Mahisas says right now, there is a great evil destroying worlds and causing chaos - if this continues, then you won't get the chance to destroy more of our master's kind. Gell says then Gell will no longer have vengeance as Mahisas says however, I would suggest you trust the one called Zakaros - he is definitely not like our old master; he doesn't betray his friends or allies and he needs a powerful Bakugan like yourself since he doesn't have his Bakugan. Gell asks what happened to young kind's Bakugan as Mahisas says he gave them to his friends so they did not suffer the same fate as him - you and he could learn from each other. Gell then says annoyingly everyone betrays somebody as Gell tries to ignore Mahisas. Mahisas says might I also add that only someone with an extraordinary amount of willpower and strength can release you from your prison and aside from our master, he is the only one that could do so so in other words, you need him to get out of here, old chap. Gell then looks at Mahisas with an angry look and says what does scorpion suggest as Mahisas says I suggest that you and he have a mutual partnership - details aren't really my style so you can work that out for yourself. Gell says Gell not good with details - only knows how to smash and destroy as Mahisas says yes, you certainly do. Mahisas says I must go as Gell says Gell thanks scorpion for visit - now Gell must think on scorpion's suggestion. Mahisas says I only suggest you make the right one - if you ever want to feast again as Mahisas then leaves. Back in the world, Mahisas releases his connection as then, a voice says so, here you are. Mahisas closes his eyes, chuckles a bit and says I see you are smarter than you appear to be as he looks and sees Masquerade by ending with human. Mahisas says you do understand that now that you are here - Zakaros will fail his test for I said no one must be with him. Masquerade acts like he doesn't know and says oh, did you say that - I must have not heard it. Mahisas looks in interest as he moves closer and says you are very different from the others, Masquerade. Masquerade says since you are quite the observer - you must know everything about me then. As he circles him, Mahisas says oh, I know you were once quite the evil mastermind, you are a highly skilled brawler but in the end, you are merely a spirit or rather, another personality of the Battle Brawler Alice Gehabich. Mahisas says it rather surprised me that you are able to survive here - normally, only BakuGods or those follow the darkness can enter a place like this but you, you have a keen sense and attachment to the Darkus attribute which I so enjoy in a brawler. Masquerade says sounds like you want to team up; sorry - I already have one. Mahisas ah yes - Hydranoid; quite an impressive Bakugan but last I checked, he is back on New Vestroia. Masquerade says your point as Mahisas says let me honest with you, it is very boring here. Masquerade looks around and says yeah, I can see why as Mahisas says I was put here against my will - I know Gell because I was once his friend and because I defended him, I was sentenced as the Guardian but there is a way out. Masquerade says let me guess; only one who doesn't have a Guardian can release you from your curse as Mahisas says my, you are dramatic but true. Masquerade says sorry, not interested as Mahisas says oh, but I think you are. Masquerade looks at him and says how so as Mahisas says you have been without a Bakugan of any attribute and you have felt useless on this journey - unproductive at the least. Masquerade then turns to look at him and honestly says yes, I have wondered why I have been on this journey for I haven't done anything at all. Mahisas says it is not uncommon for feelings like that to occur - I'm offering you my services so that not only can I escape from my duties here but you can also help your friends out more. Masquerade ponders in thought as Mahisas puts his claw on Masquerade's shoulder and says think about it - I must return to the test as he makes himself invisible and heads back. Meanwhile, Masquerade watches & thinks to himself about Mahisas' proposition. The scene now shifts to Zakaros who is still walking around the maze and getting frustrated. He says to himself I don't see how this is going to work if I don't know where to look - I can't even sense Borg Mahisas anywhere. He then sits down and trys to meditate but just as he starts, he picks up something as he hears a voice says so, ready to give up yet successor. Zakaros then says you know, you may be the final Guardian but to be honest, this doesn’t seem to be much of a test as he swings his staff, unleashing an energy wave but it doesn’t hit anything. Zakaros is a bit surprised as Mahisas says sorry but in this world, you must rely on your own intuition and skills, not your abilities as he chuckles a bit. Zakaros sighs as he says I thought I had it right but he says out loud all right as he tries to fly but he can’t so he sighs yet again and says fine, I’ll take the stairs as he starts climbing. As he walks and constantly makes wrong turns, Mahisas chuckles and says tell me something; why do you feel so obligated to help the Brawlers - you only just met them and they have handled their times' villains on their own. Zakaros says I feel obligated to stop Calthor - he is my responsibility and therefore, I have to help. Mahisas says even if you aren't the MasterGod of the prophecy as Zakaros says even if I'm the lowest on the totem pole, I still will fight him. Mahisas says well then, perhaps I should tell you something of a story that might interest while we play hide and seek. Zakaros says if you keep talking, chances are I'll find you faster but Mahisas says I doubt that - I can manipulate myself in this world and no one else can use Bakugan so I'm superior here. Zakaros chuckles and says we'll see but let's here this story of yours. Mahisas says very well then as the walls of the maze shift and start to project images on the walls as he says you already know of the story on how the BakuGods began, yes. Zakaros says yes, they were a race of beings who learned about their unique abilities and therefore, learned how to create the first Bakugan. Mahisas then says what if I were to tell you more specifically about them as well as the 1st evil BakuGod that existed. As Zakaros learns to pick up on his trail, Zakaros says there have been many evil BakuGods - the first wouldn't matter but Mahisas says ah, but it relates to your adversary and the others, Calthor. Zakaros stops walking and says what are you talking about. Mahisas says the 1st one who learned to create Bakugan became not only the 1st BakuGod but the 1st MasterGod as well - her name was Lacetornia. Over time, she taught the others of her kind how to create Bakugan and be one with them but there was one who disagreed with her philosophy - an outcast named Scimizak. He was a BakuGod of immense potential but he possessed an unusual ability that when he created a Bakugan, that Bakugan always became his to control through sheer force of will. His philosophy brought many to his side and even though it was forbidden to be ever mentioned again, it began the first Great War. Zakaros, as he starts walking again, says so - the War that is happening now, it is not the 1st time as Mahisas says the War happening now is mere child's play - this first War destroyed countless innocent galaxies of people even though the good BakuGods tried their best to protect the innocents. Zakaros then sees something in the distance, a glowing pedestal with a balcony and decides to head for it as he asks how to do you know this as Mahisas says because I was there as was Kachia Gell and Thorius. Zakaros is in shock but continues walking as he says what happened and who won as Mahisas says to be honest, neither side won but in recording history, the good guys won - Lacetornia was able to defeat Scimizak but before he died, he proclaimed that another BakuGod would rise with his ambitions, his goals and power and would take his place and succeed where he failed. Zakaros is in shock as Mahisas says to be frank, it was Kachia Gell that turned the War around - when he devastated the evil BakuGod lines, he broke their spirit and their resolve and he was correct about his master betraying them both since Gell and I were friends. Zakaros says that explains why you wanted him as he then gets within a few hundred feet of the pedestal - did he agree to help. Mahisas says let's just say that Gell was never the talkative type; you will have to work it out for yourself. At that moment, Zakaros arrives at the pedestal location and as he is walking closer to it, he says one question - what does this story have to do with me as at that moment, Mahisas says because as he reveals himself, you and the original MasterGod have something in common - she was also not a pure BakuGod just like you. Zakaros is in shock as he asks how do I not know this as Mahisas says it's because nobody knows - only a few select close to her, like my Master, knew of this secret and it was one of the reasons why my Master planned to betray her. Zakaros says so what you meant by I'm the last as Mahisas says yes, she was the 1st and you are the last - as it should be. Zakaros says another question as he walks closer to Mahisas, looks over the balcony and asks if Calthor is a reincarnation of Scimizak. Mahisas says he is not but there is an interesting factor about both of them - they both wielded a Darkus Dio Sivac. Zakaros says will I be able to defeat him as Mahisas says I don't know but I know a way we both can find out as he touches Zakaros on the head with his claw and says the test is over. Zakaros says but, I didn't touch you as Masquerade then appears and says it wasn't the purpose of the test if I understand it correctly - it was to see if you could your own abilities and not your powers to find the ending as Zakaros realizes the pedestal was the end of the maze. Borg Mahisas gives back to the Orb with Gell in it and says hopefully, you two can work it out as Zakaros puts it in his robes. Mahisas then says if you want, touch the pedestal and we'll all return to the corridor. Zakaros touches it as the maze around them collapses and they are transported before the world is destroyed. The scene now shifts back to the corridor where Thorius and Blakai are playing a certain card game. Thorius is smiling but then, Blakai draws a card and says yes, I win as Thorius contemplates on how he went down so far with Tavanel saying it didn't take much. At that moment, the others arrive back as Blakai asks if he passed. Zakaros smiles and says was there any doubt as he then goes over to the pedestal where the piece is. He then sticks his hand in and is able to grab it easily. As he pulls it out, he turns to Mahisas and says thank you with Mashisas saying don't mention it but however, I must advise you put the pieces of the Amulet together outside of here - the power it generates would cause a problem. Zakaros says all right as he goes to talk with Blakai and Thorius, leaving Masquerade and Mahisas by themselves. Mahisas then quietly turns to Masquerade, who really isn’t paying attention to what is going on. Mahisas says human; isn’t there something you want to ask me that you have been thinking about. Masquerade looks a bit confused and says why would I want to ask you anything as Mahisas taps his head with his claw and says you can’t fool me, remember – I know what you are thinking. Masquerade sneers and says haven’t you figured it out yet – it’s not nice to read people’s minds and I haven't thought about it. Mahisas slyly says who’s going to stop me as Masquerade smacks his hand into his palm and says that would probably be me. As they look at each other seriously, they start chuckling as Masquerade says you certainly take after my old partner in a way but yeah, I wanted to ask if you and I could be partners, that is unless you don’t have anything else better to do than stay here after all. Mahisas looks around and says well, it’s not that bad a place but other than my old master, I can’t think of anybody else that I would partner with, Masquerade as Mahisas goes into ball form and jumps on his shoulder. Mahisas says I think we will work great as a team with Masquerade saying I think so too as Zakaros asks if you two are ready to go. They look at each other and both say yes as they start to go up the staircase with Zakaros holding the final piece. They reach the way they got in as the others go first with Zakaros going last as he takes a look back and says finally, the journey is over. He then jumps through and arrives on the other side but then, he gets a surprise as he is kicked in the chest and hit in the back, causing him to drop the piece and it rolling to somebody's feet. He is then held in place by two HighGods as he sees that Masquerade, Thorius and Blakai are also being held while at that point, a hand grabs the piece and it shows Maxoric is the one who picked it up. Maxoric says my, you really make an entrance but we were prepared this time. He walks up to Zakaros, gets with an inch of his face and says you should really watch yourself and be more attentive next time Zakaros. Zakaros says sternly release me and give me that right now – it is useless to you. Maxoric says maybe but you seem to have taken a great interest in it; I have a better idea – give me the rest of whatever this device is and I’ll make your demise swift and painless, half-breed. Zakaros says sorry – I don’t make deals with idiots as he yells out now Pythanus as a voice says at once, Master. At that moment, Darkus Pythanus appears and knocks back the HighGods, including the ones holding Zakaros and his friends. The HighGods then back up as Pythanus returns to Zakaros with Zakaros saying thank you for your excellent time as Pythanus says it's a gift. As he is put away, Maxoric sneers and says fine; if you want this the hard way – you’ll have to take it from me as the HighGods get ready but then, a voice says you seem to have forgotten my view on this. Both sides look as Neotaro and his DarkGods appear out of the shadows as Neotaro says I want that device and I will go through both of you. Maxoric in shock says how could you defeat my elite Guardsman as Neotaro says oh please, do you honestly think those pathetic excuses for soldiers could keep us down - they do much better bragging than fighting. As Maxoric sneers, Neotaro says now Zakaros - if you don't give the piece; then I'll have to destroy you for humiliating me as Maxoric says not before me or have you forgotten we are at war as a triple threat staredown begins between all three groups. Blakai then says we're outnumbered, this doesn't look good as Zakaros says don't worry; we'll think of something as then, a voice says fear not - we are here. Everybody looks around as Maxoric says another of your trick tactics as Neotaro says I'm just as surprised as you are. Zakaros then says who's there as then, the cloaked BakuGods suddenly come out of the trees one by one, with the last being the strange faced leader, surrounding all three. The tree groups look around as Zakaros asks who are you and what do you want as they are silent and watching but telepathically, the leader says time to fight. Meanwhile, in Vestal space, Calthor has finished charging up and his ready to transform. Tivala says Master, we are have picked up large numbers of Vestal forces coming at our destination. Calthor says I know - stop telling me things that are not problematic. As Tivala apologizes, Calthor orders Clay and Andrus to take the left and Shiori and Floria to take the right, leaving Jin and Tivala with Calthor. As Calthor begins his chant of transformation, a blast appears and hits him right in the back, causing Calthor some actual pain. Calthor reels back and asks who did that as then, a voice says "Ability Activate - Everest Magnus!" while another says "Ability Activate - Flare Aerial!" as two Pyrus attacks hit Calthor and injure him but his regenerative healing slowing heals him up. As his Bakugan releases themselves, it's revealed that Dan on Drago and Lindsata on Flame Aigle are responsible as all the heroes gather around as Dan says this time, you're going down creep - you're surrounded. Calthor however, just laughs and says no, it is you who is surrounded as the Mechtogan form an energy barrier around the respective area and traps the Brawlers and heroes inside as Calthor says well then, checkmate.
