Angus McGarg was a character that appeared in "Hefty Sees A Serpent", a Season 9 episode of the Smurf cartoon show. He was a fisherman (and probably a relative of Gargamel) who lived long ago somewhere in Scotland. He was always being tricked by the Loch Monster, which he wanted to catch to prove its existence to another fisherman, Dingus McDoohey, who with his two friends always laughed at Angus because of his claims about the sea serpent. When McGarg saw Hefty Smurf, he decided to capture some Smurfs to show off to Dingus. He set a trap and caught some Smurfs right away, but not including Hefty. He also captured the Monster by using the Smurfs he caught, but Hefty saved them all. The serpent pulled Angus' fish boat to get free of him. Angus and his pet cat Furgy survived, but his boat cr
