The Ceratitaceae comprises a superfamily of typically highly ornamented or tuberculate Ammonoidea included in the Ceratitida that range throughout most of the Triassic. Contents have been revised since Part L of the Treatise was first published in 1957. The Acrochordiceratidae, Arpaditidae, Aplococeratidae,Balatonitidae, Beyrichitidae, Ceratitidae, Danubitidae, and Hungaritidae have been retained, with the Badiotitidae, Longobarditidae, Rimkinitidae, and Sibiritidae added from elsewhere, while others such as the Carnitidae, Dinaritidae and Proteusitidae have been removed and reassigned.
