Super Mario World is an animated cartoon series based on Super Mario World. It originally debuted as a part of Captain N: the Game Master. In the series, unlike most instances, Yoshi can actually speak English. In the episode A Little Learning, he gets excited about the discovery of fireballs coming at Mario and company. He then exclaims "Fireballs! Yum!". This quote has become a meme, as has another episode where Luigi has to babysit Yoshi and is refered to as "Mama Luigi". The show is also the first depiction of Yoshi with actual hands instead of paws.

  • This game has spawned a few memes. The first is Mama Luigi, in which Luigi has to care for Yoshi after he hatches from his egg. The second revolves around an episode in which Mario and his friends are being attacked by fireballs. Yoshi responds, "Fireballs! Yum!" and proceeds to eat them and spit them back at the enemies.
  • Super Mario World is an animated television series loosely based on the Super NES video game of the same name. It is the third and thus far last Saturday morning cartoon based on the Super Mario Bros. NES and Super NES series of video games. The series aired on NBC as a part of Captain N: The Game Master, and, due to Captain N's cancellation, only lasted thirteen episodes.
  • The series centers on Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool, now living in Dinosaur Land (sometimes also called Dinosaur World) with Yoshi, who is depicted on the show as a curious childlike dinosaur with a large appetite and several phobias. King Koopa (otherwise known as Bowser) and the Koopalings were also around, having followed the Super Mario Bros. and the Princess to Dinosaur Land.
