When the protagonists asked Delilah for the shoes, Delilah was doubtful that they were the four Warriors of the Light in the Amur legend, and threw a bomb at them instead. Luckily, the Four Old Men came in the nick of time to warn the Warriors of the Light of her trickery. After the four old men explained the situation to Delilah, she realized her mistake and gave them the real shoes. When the player went to speak with her again, Delilah explained the reason for her living in the sewers - she was betrayed long ago and has never trusted anyone since. To her, home is where the heart is, even if that is in the sewers.
