Vrikans are a largely unknown race of beings who reside on the planet Vrika located somewhere on the fringes of the galaxy. They are very similar to humans in biology except for their fuzzy wolf ears, elongated canines and tail. Their other characteristics include enhanced vision, hearing and smell which in turn makes them excellent predators. Unlike most of the different species of the galaxy, however, Vrikans lack the technology to build star ships. They're a nomadic people living in small tribes, or rather "packs" that are led by an alpha male. Typically these packs will consist of the male, his mate, their offspring and their mates making each tribe a sort of nuclear family. Leadership of each pack is passed on through trial by combat. They are very similar to humans in biology except for their fuzzy wolf ears, elongated canines and tail. Their other characteristics include enhanced vision, hearing and smell which in turn makes them excellent predators. Unlike most of the different species of the galaxy, however, Vrikans lack the technology to build star ships. They're a nomadic people living in small tribes, or rather "packs" that are led by an alpha male. Typically these packs will consist of the male, his mate, their offspring and their mates making each tribe a sort of nuclear family. Leadership of each pack is passed on through trial by combat. A young male will often challenge the alpha for control of the pack and should he succeed the previous leader will have either been killed or driven off to live out the rest of his days in exile. Vrikan technology is fairly primitive, their weaponry consist mostly of various types of blades and clubs and while they have ranged weapons such as bows, crossbows and spears they lack the technology necessary to build blasters. It wasn't until recently that such technology had been encountered on Vrika. A small group of opportunistic traders stumbled upon their home world and saw the potential for selling Vrikans into labor on other planets such as Tatooine and Kessel. Unfortunately, the Vrikans turned out to be too much for them to handle in spite of their technological advantage. The few traders who survived managed to make it off planet with a small Vrikan child on board their ship. However, the trader's ship was badly damaged and crashed some time later. No one knows the fate of the young child they took with them...
