  • Summoners are enemy units capable of spawning additional enemy units. They will keep spawning units until they are defeated, so their defeat is often a top priority. Stalchild, Bulblin, Bokoblin, Goron, and Hyrulean Summoners have a unique appearance that allows them to be easily identified from other units. Other kinds of summoners are simply regular strong enemies that possess the ability to summon additional units. In Hyrule Warriors Legends, Summoners appear much earlier in story mode and more often.
  • Tatsumi Mino was the first summoner to appear in the series. He summoned a trio of female snakes, who he named Josephine, Roxanne, and Simone. He viewed them as treasured companions, and their connection was of a very strong nature: Minou felt damage suffered by the snakes, and could be easily controlled if even one of the snakes fell under enemy control.

  • Summoners are a unique class which use youkai to fight instead of doing it themselves. Youkai are the creatures summoned by summoners to fight. Each youkai is different and has special abilities that either help the summoner or itself, maybe both. Each youkai has a cost of focus points to be summoned and maintained. When unsummoned they will return some of the focus they costed you. Some contracts with youkai change when they get to certain levels as they change. Youkai CANNOT be above your own level. There are special summon augments that help your youkai in certain ways. Youkai are known to be stronger at night and can be contracted as mutants that are stronger than the normal ones.
