This led to her big break as the casting of the ditzy blonde Chrissy Snow in the smash sitcom Three's Company in 1977. Somers eventually left the show at the height of its popularity following a dispute with the producers. While she has since had starring roles in a couple of short-lived series, and even her own talk show, her greatest post-Three's Company success has been as the spokesperson for the Thighmaster excercise machine.

She hosted and played the director in the 1988 NBC musical television special Totally Minnie. She also hosted the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade special, in 1996.
